Summerset Saffron Farm is located in Lenoir County close to Kinston and Goldsboro, North Carolina. This area is on the coastal plain with sandy loam soil suitable for growing a number of crops. For many years, the soil lay fallow. In the best three years, the land is back in cultivation. Besides Saffron, 7 of the 10 acres are currently planted in cotton.

The 10 acre tract is located on land that is also suitable for residential and possibly, commercial development. Ideally situated in the coastal plain, Raleigh, Greenville are an easy drive. North Carolina has wonderful recreational opportunities with the seashore and the Outer Banks, and the Appalachian mountains. Within a short drive, the gated community, Cutter Creek Golf Club (cuttercreek.com) offers excellent amenities including golf, tennis and swimming.

The area has a non-sectarian private school, Arendell Parrott Academy. The school was founded as a segregation academy in response to the court ordered integration of public schools. Today the school enjoys a diverse student body and faculty. Enrollment is over 700 students drawn from a wide area around the school.
